JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Food Ingredients will be responsible for leading and expanding the sales initiatives of the food ingredients team, ensuring strong customer relationships, providing inspiring leadership, ensuring that accurate client forecasting is tied into procurement for timely fulfillment, effectively managing the key risks, and overseeing all other key aspects of the food ingredients business.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market presence and achieve revenue growth for the food ingredients division.
- Foster and build strong relationships with current and prospective customers, understanding their needs and ensuring they receive superior service and product solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging markets within the food ingredients sector, driving innovation and product development to meet industry demands.
- Oversee the domestic food and food ingredients sales team, providing guidance, leadership, and support to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team culture.
- Work with the demand planning and supply chain framework to accurately forecast demand and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Ensure operational processes and procedures are aligned with company policies, regulatory standards, food safety and quality requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align sales and operations goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to business development and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the budget for the food ingredients division, tracking performance against financial targets and customer specifications to ensure positive cash flow and sustainable earnings.
REQUIRED SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proven track record in sales leadership and market expansion.
- Strong knowledge of food-grade ingredients, market dynamics, and customer needs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in sales and operations within the food ingredients or related agricultural sector.
- Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.
